Marinate the chicken strips for at least an hour.  Cook the chicken satays  in a pre-heated grill, while basting occasionally with the marinate.   Meanwhile, to create the peanut sauce,

Best in Vigan "Pakbet compliment Bagnet"

On my second visit at Vigan, Ilocos Sur, I cannot resist but to try one of their famous delicacies the fried pork belly or “bagnet” and bring it home in Manila.  Ilocano's may correct me, but i guess it is their version of Filipino dish "lechon kawali" same ingredients but probably differs on the process and preparation.  Bagnet is nice paired with cold beer, but surely not for the faint of heart. It is best incorporated in another famous Ilocano dish  called “pakbet” which I'd like to share how to make this healthy simple dish. Ingredients for pakbet are: Bagnet, bitter melons or ampalaya (soaked in hot water with salt to remove bitterness); eggplants, okra, medium sized squash; string beans (all the vegetables are cut into serving pieces); garlic; onions; tomatoes; ginger; fish paste or “bagoong alamang”; cup of water; Patis (fish sauce) and pepper to taste.

Here’s how:
